Carey Baptist College is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Christa McKirland to the role of Dean of Faculty. Christa has been lecturer in systematic theology at Carey since the beginning of 2020, teaching in both Carey’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Christa received her PhD from the University of St Andrews in the UK. Her research has focused particularly on theological anthropology and the critical role of the Holy Spirit for understanding human purpose and flourishing. She is currently completing a book on leadership and authority in the church. Christa is the executive director of Logia International, an organisation which supports women pursuing postgraduate theological education.
“I am delighted with this appointment of Christa as Dean of Faculty. Besides being a brilliant scholar, she is a strategic thinker and a highly capable leader. Even more importantly, Christa loves Jesus. She has a high view of Scripture. She is passionate about the church. And she is deeply committed to the kind of integrative scholarship and teaching that equips God’s people for the work of ministry and mission.”
