As the legal entity for churches belonging to it, the Baptist Union has an agreement with the office of the Registrar General.

This agreement allows the Baptist Union to manage their own appointments and removals on our list to act as marriage celebrants under New Zealand law.

Being a celebrant is a function of the local church, therefore applicants must be a registered Baptist leader before being added to our list. If you are registered and wish to apply to become a BUNZ marriage Celebrant, please email Marianne Hunt – [email protected]
