As the legal entity for churches belonging to it, the Baptist Union has an agreement with the office of the Registrar General.

This agreement allows the Baptist Union to manage its own list of those who act as marriage celebrants under New Zealand law.

Being a celebrant is a function of the local church, therefore applicants must be a registered Baptist pastor or leader before being added to the list. If you are registered and wish to apply to become a BUNZ Marriage Celebrant, please email [email protected]

The BUNZ Marriage Celebrant policy statement is on the My Place Portal.
