Tim concludes our Highway 1 Bible overview series with ?Jesus the Destination?. Just as State Highway 1 is a long and varied road with heaps of different terrain yet just one road, so too is the Bible long and varied with heaps of different terrain yet just one message ? God redeeming a people for himself. In this sermon, we look at the Bible?s apocalyptic literature, particularly Revelation 5. We see that the cross of Jesus is the focus of worship in heaven, and that we get to join in with all of creation praising Jesus, the one who died for our sin in our place.

The Psalms don't just contain the nice bits we like the most. The have lots of messy bits and angry bits that reflect the life we actually live but the nice bits point us to God's ultimate plan - our salvation.

Tim starts our new Bible overview series ?Highway 1?. Just as State Highway 1 is a long and varied road with heaps of different terrain yet just one road, so too is the Bible long and varies with heaps of different terrain yet just one message ? God redeeming a people for himself. This first in the series is about Jesus being the key to narrative Bible passages. The whole Bible points to Jesus, including in the classic story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17. This chapter is not primarily about us being David and defeating our giants, but about David pointing to Jesus, about David being a champion who fights on behalf of the Israelites and Jesus being a champion who has fought on our behalf
