In September 2026 our National Leader, Chris Chamberlain, invites you to step into a powerful, shared journey – a month of united prayer across our churches.

Anchored in four transformative themes: Radical, Repentance, Renewal, and Revival – we will gather with expectancy, ready to listen for what the Holy Spirit is saying to individual churches and to us all as a movement of churches.

Discerning God’s Voice resource

This Discerning God’s Voice resource has been prepared by Jess Renata-Paul from Manukau City Baptist Church. Jess has been involved in ministry in both church and community contexts for almost 2 decades. She is a wife and mum, a registered teacher, and has a Graduate Diploma in Theology from Carey Baptist College. Alongside teaching on this topic at her own church, she has spoken and run seminars at youth camps and other leadership training spaces.

The two videos and workbook are designed to be used together. They can be used by individuals but ideally in small group settings.

PowerPoint slides for church services

Below is a PowerPoint slide with a QR code pointing to the public Together in Prayer page: baptist.nz/prayer  This could be shown in church services in September letting the congregation know where they can find weekly prayer resources for individual use – these will be available by the Sunday of each of the four weeks in September. If you introduce the weekly prayer theme in your church service, this is a resource you can share so your people can continue to pray with this focus on their own during the week. Some people might dip into this prayer resource once in the week, others might open it each day of the following week to guide their prayer – it is easy to access on the Baptist app, website and Facebook page.

The words of the four responsive prayers are also provided in four PowerPoint files:

On the baptist.nz/prayer webpage there will be

  • Four individual prayer guides published each week on the Baptist NZ app, website and Facebook page, with material to guide individuals in prayer on the weekly theme (eg: week one prayer guide will be based on the theme ‘Radical’). The idea is a Sunday church service introduces the theme, and then individuals can use these prayer guides during the following week (repeat four times).
  • Feedback mechanism – an online form at baptist.nz/prayer will enable churches and individuals to share what is being heard from the Holy Spirit through this month of prayer – this feedback will be collected and shared in October.

Let’s come expectant.
Let’s come united.
Let’s come ready for God to speak and move.

Join us this September as we seek God together for our towns, our nation and our world.
